Itawamba Community College is in compliance with provisions granted under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974. Under this law, students enrolled in any educational institution receiving federal funds are given certain rights concerning school records.

Maintaining confidential student records is the responsibility of all college employees. The federal government requires educational institutions to follow the FERPA regulations, which is the "right" thing to do. This training course has been designed to give you a basic knowledge of the rules governing the release of student information.
